IVY ARC Founder and Director, Dr. Paulina Siemieniec, is an animal philosopher who specializes in the legal, political, and ethical representation of animals. ​​

Dr. Siemieniec has a PhD from Queen's University, where she was the coordinator of two APPLE (Animals in Philosophy, Politics, Law, and Ethics) groups for several years. She is an APPLE Fellow.​​​

Dr. Siemieniec is affiliated with the Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law as a Visiting Research Fellow in 2023, and with continued contract work as a researcher.

Dr. Siemieniec was also affiliated with the International Centre for Animal Rights and Ethics in 2025 as both an instructor and moderator for the Litigating and Legislating Seminar Series.

Dr. Siemieniec has mutliple publications on animal representation topics in top academic journals, including the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Between the Species, and the Journal of Animal Ethics. ​
